What a great meeting we had on Saturday! The weather cooperated, so we had a long line of bikes in the parking lot. Featured were Jonathan Chaikin’s just completed Moto Guzzi cafe racer and Frank’s newly acquired HD 1956 KHK. Members rode a wide collection of motorcycles to the meeting including Triumph, Norton, HD, Honda CBX, Royal Enfield, Ducati, Moto Guzzi, BMW, and Aermacchi. Frank did a talk on the HD Model K and how it led to the Harley’s longest running motorcycle, the Sportster. We had an interesting discussion on crosshatching in a newly bored cylinder, prompted by Bill Champlin’s trouble getting his Norton Commando to break-in and not smoke.

Our next event will be an open house at Jonathan and Tammara Chaikin’s place in Sedalia. This is a Norton Club gathering, but Jonathan is a member of both clubs, so he has graciously invited BMAC members also. Jonathan has a collection of rare bikes that you don’t want to miss, and he has threatened to start up his Norton Manx.
October 25, Sunday at 11:00am start. 1180 Cathedral Rock Drive, Sedalia, CO 80135. There might be some delicious chili also.

Our next meeting will be on the 3rd Saturday in November, the 21st.
