Our meeting last Saturday went very well, with 17 members in attendance. Of special note is the fact we have 4 new members: Andrew Canino, Bill Champlin, Jeff Kisicki, and Bill Fillion. All were at the meeting, so it was great for us old dogs to see some new blood! It was nice enough that we had a bunch of members ride their bikes to the meeting, pretty good for February.
We celebrated with Kris Geller for his High Mileage Award win. True to form, he came to the meeting on his BMW motorcycle, with the 3-foot trophy strapped on the back! I forgot to get a picture of him with the trophy, so I want Kris to send me a photo I can share with everyone.
After the usual camaraderie, we viewed and discussed some of the Mecum Auction results. The consensus was that now is the time to buy a British bike, they aren’t doing well in the marketplace. After that, I showed some superchargers and gave background on their use on my Bonneville Salt Flat bikes. I have attached the PowerPoint on this, which won’t mean too much without my blabbering, but it will give you a taste of the talk if you weren’t there. The last slide shows a supercharger that is run by an electric motor, running in an Audi I think. At Bonneville, the supercharger has to be run from the engine, usually by belt or chain. But the electric motor running the supercharger is certainly interesting.
We are at 40 members signed up as dues paying members for BMAC, which is really exciting! Get your dues and email and phone and city you live in to Tom as noted below. Sorry, we are only doing checks, or cash at the meeting.
