Thoughts for April
I hope everyone is well and ready to enjoy some riding. This Saturday looks
to be great weather to get off to a good start. Gary has a ride planned for
after the meeting, so come and enjoy it while it lasts. I here more snow
sometime next week. Every year the BMW club starts off their riding season
with a lunch ride to Taos. It has been almost twenty years since the last
time I went on that ride. At that time I was riding my BMW K 1200 RS so I
didn’t have any problem keeping up with a ride that leaves Pueblo by 9:30
has lunch in Taos and is back home in Colorado Springs by dinner. Since that
ride is also this Saturday I will not be at this months meeting. But no
worries, Jerry has returned from Antarctica and will be there to preside
over the meeting this month. There will be plenty to do as Frank plans to
bring his newly completed Norton Commando to the meeting. I recently saw the
bike when I was at Frank’s house. Like everything Frank builds it is
somewhere between beautiful and incredible.
I have been staying busy and trying to get some things finished up so I will
have time to get in some throttle therapy. Recently I decided to take the
steering box out of my 1965 Ford van and have it rebuilt. I got the rebuilt
steering gear back from Red Head steering in Idaho and it is back in the van
but as usual the project turned into more than I planned on and I am still
working on this and a couple of other projects at the same time.
Come to the meeting and enjoy the show, enjoy the ride, enjoy getting
together with friends after a long cold winter and I will see you all next
month.
