The November 24 meeting of BMAC came to order shortly after 10AM at Pikes Peak Harley Davidson with 21 members in attendance.
Robin presented the treasurer’s report; the club has $3,144 on account. As
always, merchandise is available and supports club activities, as do club
dues, which are due now for the 2019 year. If you haven’t paid already
please do so.
Upcoming Events include:
Christmas Party – December 1
New Year’s Ride – Possible, but still TBD. We will also mail out info on
the BMW and Norton club rides, if they occur.
New Rides:
Todd purchased a 1970 Bridgestone TMX.
Jerry helped a business partner with a 350 Royal Enfield for sidecar class
racing. This bike has a 1944 frame and a 1981 engine.
Frank picked up a 1973 Honda Trail 90 from a friend in Albuquerque.
Kris showed us an airhead camshaft, and demonstrated the importance of zinc additive in oil; he recommends Valvoline R.
John showed us his techniques for fitting and building up a test tank,
including using Cleco fasteners to hold pieces in place prior to welding.
Frank demonstrated how pre-unit primary chains were tensioned, compared with newer unit engines with inner primaries.
George shared the British motorcycle mechanics group on Facebook
The club voted to cancel the December meeting due to the holidays. The
next meeting will be January 26, 2019.
There was a call for nominations for the 2019 president and vice president,
to be considered at the next meeting.
