It has been six months since I crashed in California and I’m getting more interested in continuing to ride. Before this cold weather set in I had a chance to catch up on some throttle therapy. With temps. in the mid sixties in the mountains, I didn’t have to think about it very long when my friend called and asked if I wanted to go for a ride. Three hours later we were eating our lunch at the park in down town Salida. I was riding my 2010 F650 and Randy was on his Africa Twin. It was a pleasant day so we lingered while Randy told me all about his test ride on the new Triumph Tiger. He has been talking about replacing the Honda for awhile and I could see right away that he was hooked on the smooth running Triumph triple, the seat height is low with a nice upright riding position, the weight manageable and even the price is reasonable.
After lunch we headed back down Hwy. 50 the same way we came, but it was just too nice to go straight back so we turned at Cotopaxi and headed for Westcliff then came back through Wetmore and Florence to 115. After getting home we exchanged the usual GREAT RIDE texts. I guess I’m just not ready to quite riding, what can I say.
We have had some days when it was cold and snowing and the motorcycles stay parked but today the sun is back out and the temperature is back up so I hope that some of you have the chance to get out and ride some. I got word that Randy took delivery on a new 2024 Triumph Tiger. I don’t think that he will be disappointed with it.
The BMAC is forty years strong and counting so I will see you all soon, at the party, at the meetings and on the road.
